Muscle Health Study

In this study, we are looking for volunteers to help us look at the effect of a supplement on muscle health. 

 

All participants will receive €600 upon completion of the study.

Study Background

 

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the supplement on muscle performance in adults living a sedentary lifestyle, over a 6 month period.

 

Muscle strength and function are key to overall health and physical health in adults.


Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to either receive the Mitopure® product or a placebo, which is a non-active version of the product.

Who is Eligible?

 

All our studies have eligibility criteria which is dependent on the type of study, the health area and the population.

 

  • Generally healthy adults, aged 40-65
  • Those with slightly raised Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25.0-34.9 kg/m2
  • Those who do not exercise regularly

What's Involved in Participating?

Product

Consume 4 gel capsules daily for 6 months.

Attend 4 onsite visits to our Cork clinic.

Samples

Blood and urine samples along with DEXA scans, muscle strength assessments & cardiovascular fitness tests are required.
