Taking Applications
In this study, we are looking for volunteers to help us look at the effect of a probiotic on vaginal health.
All participants will receive $500 upon completion of the study
Study Background
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the probiotic supplementation on the maintenance of healthy vaginal microbiota and pH over a 12-week period.
Previous studies have found that the probiotic supplementation showed a positive effect on changes in the human vaginal microbiota, by increasing Lactobacillus species.
Lactobacillus species have been studied for their effect on normalizing vaginal microbiota and it concluded that these probiotics are well-tolerated and indicate favorable safety results.
Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to either receive the probiotic product or a placebo, which is a non-active version of the product.
Who is Eligible?
All our studies have eligibility criteria which is dependent on the type of study, the health area and the population.
- Adults aged 18-55
- Experience symptoms of vaginal dryness, odor or discomfort in the last 12 months
- Experience vaginal infections (e.g. bacterial vaginosis or thrush) in the last 12 months
What's Involved In Participating
Product
Consume study product daily for 12 weeks.
Visits
Attend 2 onsite visits to our clinic in Downtown, Chicago over 12 weeks. You will also receive a phone call from our team after 4 weeks.
Samples
Urine pregnancy tests & vaginal swab samples are required as part of this study.
eDiary App
During the study you will be asked to fill out an app on your phone once every 2 weeks with info about any changes to your medications your vaginal health.
