Are you generally healthy? We are looking for volunteers to take part in our research study looking at the effects of a probiotic.
All participants will receive €450 upon completion of the study
Study Background
The purpose of this study is to research the effects of a probiotic in both a high and a low dose intake.
The aim of the study is to assess the tolerability of the probiotic & its ability to reduce food cravings.
Who is Eligible?
All our studies have eligibility criteria which is dependent on the type of study, the health area and the population.
- Adults aged 18-65
- BMI less than 30.0
- Generally healthy
- No previous issues with blood draws
Participating
What's Involved
Study Type
This is a dose comparison study so you will receive either a high or low dose of the probiotic.
Product
Consume the assigned study product daily for 8 weeks.
Visits
3 clinic visits to our Blackpool clinic over 10 weeks. During visits you will meet our team and be asked questionnaires about your general health and diet. There will also be 1 phone call.
Samples
Blood samples, urine pregnancy tests (if applicable) & stool samples are required.
Cannulation
A cannulation involves inserting a small, flexible tube (called a cannula) into a vein in your arm. This tube allows us to collect blood samples easily at different time points over the course of 3 hours.
Cannulation Visits
You will be required to be in the clinic for approx. 4 hours for these 2 visits (visits 2 & 3)
