Career Journey: Paula began her career in general nursing, gaining broad experience in patient care and clinical practice. Her interest in research developed while working alongside prominent clinicians involved in medical advancements. This led her to transition into clinical research, joining Atlantia Clinical Trials 10 years ago. At Atlantia, Paula has taken part in a wide range of clinical studies from initiation through to final visits, developing particular strengths in hands-on trial procedures, protocol adherence, and participant care.

 

Key Contributions: Providing clinical oversight, supporting data accuracy, leading participant visits, and maintaining regulatory standards. She also supports training initiatives and contributes to team development.

 

Collaborations: As a research nurse, Paula has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, dietitians, microbiologists, psychologists, and regulatory personnel across a range of clinical trials and nutrition-based studies. She has also been involved in several studies with the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, University College Cork, and the School of Nutritional Sciences, University College Cork.
